Timótheus Turner

Timótheus started life as Timmy and a simple character concept: how would one optimize turning? And I don't mean how to turn the most undead, I mean how to turn everything. Timótheus at their sixth-level conception could turn and/or rebuke animals, elementals, fey, plants, undead, and fire/cold creatures; that's over a third of all the creature types in 3.5.¹⁾²⁾

Timótheus has gained a well-earned reputation for absolutely annihilating undead encounters and dungeons; twice now they have won the boss encounter with a swift action.

During encounters which Timótheus cannot turn, especially humanoids, they generally fire arrows at the subject until it dies. The restriction of the Weapon Bless spell due to abuse made this slightly harder; the influx of wealth made it easier.

For various reasons, “Timmy” became a poor choice of name. While originally the memes were entertaining, I elected to rename them Timótheus, meaning “honored by god.” This will happily dovetail into entering Divine Emissary.

During their first adventure, for which they were significantly underlevelled, Timótheus combined Divine Spell Power, Resist Energy, and the then-abuseable Weapon Bless to allow two surviving members of the party to easily defeat a blue dragon. They have a shield made from its hide.

Timótheus was melted by Tassi, but later restored to life and poured into a mold, during an adventure with the psionic demon lord Zahaak. A following adventure found Timótheus, now a Kobold, aiding in the destruction of Zahaak— resulting in the demon's psionic capacitors overloading, absolutely annihilating the demon, the fortress, and the party (and all their items), save for the one member with enough cowardice or foresight to clear the blast radius before the boss-fight even started.

On October 10th, Timótheus was forcibly retired by the DM team for being too powerful. Though the option was extended to rebuild them, Obbie deemed that any attempt to bring them to heel would require moving away from the character's gimmick: turning. Convieniently, Timótheus's retirement left Obbie with a truly enormous pool of retirement benefits, which was used to kickstart Mtwara.

Obbie has informed us that Timótheus's general idea is being developed into a full-on theoretical optimization guide to be posted on a 3.5 forum; we are doubly happy in that Obbie will not post it here.

Based off of Pelor, the Burning Hate, Turner's God is a demigod that grants its chosen people Dominion over all others. All domains which modify Turning or Rebuking are under its purview. Its chosen people consist of anything that cannot be turned, including almost all Humanoids and Monstrous Humanoids, but Halflings most of all.
