Calendar
The Roll of Age's most accurate calendar is composed of four-year cycles of fifteen months per year. Each month is exactly six weeks long, and each week ten days.
The Roll has five week-long festivals which fall on a regular four-year cycle. These festival weeks are not part of the normal months. Since one week passes in-game for every day out-of-game, and four in-game years pass for every out-of-game year, the five festival weeks create 365 weeks every four years in-game, resulting in four in-game years passing for every out-of-game year.
Everything ages more slowly on the Roll to accommodate for this. Thus, a human of the Roll who is eighteen years old is at the same stage of development as an eighteen-year-old human in the real world.1)
Roll Workweek
A workweek on the Roll consists of 40 hours of work over five of the ten weekdays.2)
Managing an Organization Improvement takes 30 hours per week, and crafting a magical item requires 8 hours (one workday) for every 1000 gold pieces in the item's cost.
Research and practicing trades takes however many hours one wishes to devote, and makes progress in proportion to the time spent.
